Get on the green to help victims of child abuse

The Carbondale/Aspen Glen Rotary Club is hosting a golf tournament May 20 to raise funds for "The River Bridge," a child advocacy center. A dedicated group of individuals and the Rotary Club of Carbondale/Aspen Glen have launched a project to create a child-friendly center for victims of abuse and neglect. The project known as The River Bridge has already received support from the Garfield County Commissioners, who have promised $150,000 to purchase a cottage-style modular building. There will be an initial need for another $111,000 for forensic exam and interview equipment, startup and operating expenses. The River Bridge will bring all the usual agency representatives, such as social services, law enforcement and medical staff together to conduct the investigation into alleged abuse.
