Crime digest: Cell block; State Fair attendance; child abuse

This year, between 40 and 75 of them each night are state police officers and they, too, come from all over the state, according to Lt. Darren Soland of Gallup. IBaby OK; adult guardians notI Albuquerque police, responding to two calls that a woman had been thrown from a truck and that a baby boy was "suffocating," found the baby, unharmed, in the truck near the University of New Mexico Hospital, according to a Metro Court criminal complaint. The infant had chunks of someone's hair between its body and the car seat he was in and hair stuck to his clothing.
