12:50 pm - Police make arrests on child-abuse cases
Sandalina Kinataro Josa, 24, of Tamuning was arrested yesterday morning on charges of child abuse after her 2-year-old godson, whom she had been watching for the day, was found wandering on busy Marine Corps Drive in front of traffic-heavy Royal Hawaiian Apartments. A motorist picked up the child and contacted the police. The child is now back in the care of his parents. Josa was booked and released. Su Cha Ko, 41, of Tamuning was arrested on charges of child abuse after injuries were discovered on her 11-year-old sons body while her son was preparing for gym class. An investigation revealed that Ko had been disciplining the child for failing a home study test. Ko allegedly struck her son with a plastic clothes hanger, but after the hanger broke, Ko allegedly struck the child with a golf club throughout his body, legs and feet, police said.
